The Civil Law Partnership “Dima Andrei and Associates” provides pro bono legal assistance to vulnerable individuals, patients fighting for access to treatment, marginalised communities and organisations defending fundamental human rights.

We believe that the right to defence, the right to healthcare, the right to life and the right to dignity should not depend solely upon a person’s financial resources. For this reason, part of our professional activity is dedicated to causes in which the intervention of a lawyer can genuinely change the life of an individual, a family or an entire community.

Our Pro Bono Mission

Through our pro bono activity, we provide legal services free of charge and without expectation of remuneration, within the limits of our professional capacity, for cases involving significant human, social or constitutional impact.

We prioritise matters involving the protection of fundamental rights, including:

  • the right to life;
  • the right to healthcare and effective access to treatment;
  • the right to dignity;
  • the right to protection against discrimination;
  • the right to legal defence and access to justice;
  • the rights of children, persons with disabilities and individuals at risk of social exclusion.

Partnership with Dăruiește Viață

The Civil Law Partnership “Dima Andrei and Associates” is an official partner of Dăruiește Viață and supports legal initiatives dedicated to patients diagnosed with serious, rare, oncological or incurable illnesses. Dăruiește Viață și susține demersurile juridice dedicate pacienților diagnosticați cu boli grave, rare, oncologice sau incurabile.

In such matters, our assistance is focused on defending patients’ rights to life, healthcare and effective access to medical treatment, including in situations where individuals are forced to challenge public authorities, state institutions or healthcare insurance systems in order to obtain life-saving medication or treatment.

We consider that the refusal, delay or obstruction of access to medical treatment is not merely an administrative issue, but may constitute a serious violation of fundamental human rights.

Who May Benefit from Pro Bono Assistance

We review requests for pro bono legal assistance submitted by individuals or organisations in vulnerable situations, including:

Persons Facing Economic or Social Hardship

Support may be requested by individuals or families exposed to poverty, social exclusion or material hardship, including beneficiaries of minimum inclusion income schemes or other forms of social support provided by law.

Patients and Persons in Serious Medical Situations

We prioritise matters involving:
• patients suffering from serious, rare, oncological or incurable illnesses;
• individuals denied or delayed access to treatment;
• persons requiring legal support in dealings with medical authorities, the National Health Insurance House (CNAS), insurance providers, hospitals or other public institutions;
• cases concerning the right to life, healthcare and access to medication.

Children, Single-Parent Families and Persons Without Support

We may consider requests concerning children at risk, children separated from their families, children from vulnerable backgrounds, single-parent families or individuals lacking effective family, social or institutional support.

Persons with Disabilities, Elderly Persons and Dependants

In justified cases, we support persons with disabilities, individuals formally recognised as disabled or incapacitated, elderly persons without family support and individuals caring for family members facing severe medical or social difficulties.

Victims of Abuse, Violence or Human Trafficking

We may provide legal support to victims of domestic violence, sexual or gender-based violence, human trafficking, exploitation, institutional abuse or other grave violations of human dignity.

Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Homeless Persons

We review requests submitted by refugees, asylum seekers, homeless persons or individuals deprived of meaningful access to legal protection.

Organisations Supporting Vulnerable Persons

We may also provide pro bono support to non-governmental organisations, civic groups and initiatives assisting vulnerable persons, patients, children, marginalised communities or victims of human rights violations.

How We Assess Requests

The acceptance of a pro bono matter is not automatic. Each request is reviewed individually, taking into account:

  • the applicant’s personal, medical, social or financial circumstances;
  • the urgency of the matter;
  • the impact on fundamental rights;
  • the legal merits of the case;
  • the available capacity of our team;
  • the existence of a significant public or humanitarian interest.

Applicants may be asked to provide supporting documents concerning their social, medical, financial or legal situation, in full compliance with confidentiality obligations and data protection legislation.

What Pro Bono Activity Does Not Represent

  • Our pro bono activity does not constitute a general free legal service and does not imply the automatic acceptance of all requests. We reserve the right to decline matters that fall outside our criteria, lack sufficient legal basis or exceed the firm’s available professional capacity at the relevant time.

How to Contact Us

  • Individuals, families or organisations who believe they meet the above criteria may contact our firm using the contact details available on our website, accompanied by a brief description of their situation and any relevant documentation.

Every matter is treated with respect, confidentiality and professional responsibility.
